Who is Jesus Christ? This is an age-old question; is a debated question down through the years, and throughout generations. I would even dare to say many wars were the outcome of this same question. Many people would give all that they possess to defend this name, and what it means to them; many would even lay down their lives and have laid down their lives; but for some people they wouldn’t give anything at all nor do they care. The pendulum swings far in both directions. Who is Jesus Christ? The Buddhist see Jesus only as a good man doing good deeds; the Muslim scholars see Jesus as a great prophet of Allah; the modern Jewish scholars who reject the premise of Jesus being the Son of God sees him only as an important religious and historical figure; but for the Christians: Jesus Christ is far more, He is the Son of God.
I guess what I’m really trying to say is; no one can really answer this question without first having a real desire to know Him. And even with this true sincere desire He will be someone totally different to each person at their initial start on their journey to discover who Jesus is. For you see, to those who find themselves alone and in need of a Friend He will be the best friend they could and will ever have, to those who are sick and who are hurting He can be the doctor and the medicine they need to recover, to those who might need rest because of life most difficult circumstances Jesus will be a place of refuge where they can find rest. Jesus is so much more, and no amount of words could ever be used to define who Jesus is not by men. For me, Jesus was and is everything mention above and so much more. My experience with him will be different than others. But beyond any words can express He is a Savior of My Life.
To help you to understand what I mean by this statement “Jesus is a life Savior” let me describe it to you and these terms...I witnessed a rescue attempt of Lifeguards flying over the violent waves trying to rescue a woman from the raging waters; the wind was blowing vehemently making it difficult for the Lifeguards to reach her. Once they was settle in position to reach her they lowered the lifesaver, they put it around her and lifted her up to safety. If you could ask her the question “who are these lifeguards” she probably would say, they are my Life Saviors. This is who Jesus is to me and not only me but for all of those who experienced His unconditional Love and forgiveness. My experiences created in me a deeper desire to know who Jesus is; I found out that He is more than just a doctor to me, a care taker, a provider, or even a friend. Searching the scriptures I’ve received the same revelation as Peter “You are Christ, the Son of The Living God.
